- A (100-93), A- (92.9-90)
- B+ (89.9-88), B (87.9-83), B- (82.9-80)
- C+ (79.9-78), C (77.9-73), C- (72.9-70)
- D+ (69.9-68), D (67.9-63), D- (62.9-60)
- F (59.9-55)
Grade Scale for Quizzes and Exams
Quizzes and exams are graded with points attached to each task and the grades reflecting the percentage of the points earned for correct responses. In order to account for equity and accuracy, I eliminated the 0. If you were to receive less than 55% from the actual points earned, you will still receive a 55%.
- exceeding standards: A (100-93), A- (92.9-91.5)
- meeting standards: B+ (89.9-88), B (87.9-83), B- (82.9-80)
- approaching standards: C+ (79.9-78), C (77.9-73), C- (72.9-70)
- not yet meeting standards: D+ (69.9-68), D (67.9-63), D- (62.9-60)
- insufficient evidence: F (59.9-55), all quizzes below 55% will receive a 55%
Grading Entries for Short Papers
Short papers will have criteria for grading that explain what you need to do in order to reach a certain grade. Nuances in the grades (-/+) manifest in nuances of the grading criteria for each assignment. This assignment is graded with letter grades only (the numbers are for Moodle to be able to do the calculations). This grading scale aims at creating equity and accuracy in the grading process.
- exceeding standards: A (95, for Moodle grade entering), A- (91.5)
- meeting standards: B+ (88.5), B (85), B- (81.5)
- approaching standards: C+ (78.5), C (75), C- (71.5)
- not yet meeting standards: D+ (68.5), D (65), D- (61.5)
- insufficient evidence: F (55)
